Turrell’s practice engages in spontaneous trial and error, both in ideation and creation. Never forcing a concrete plan, the work unfolds through an ebb and flow of refining and roughening, obscuring and clarifying, conscious choices and intuitive moves. This exhibition pulls at the thread of different parts and pieces, weaving together narratives from Turrell’s personal life, dreams, myths and archetypes, as well as blurring the boundaries between painting and sculpture.
