Acrylic on panel, 36 x 48 in, $4,300.00
Seattle artist, Marjorie Thompson, grew up on the doorstep of the Pacific Northwests’ rainforests and beaches. Her work has always been informed by nature: land, water, sky, currents, flows, cycles, seasons, organic forms, and the living things that dwell in those spaces. Enveloped in flora and fauna, Thompson’s paintings are a conversation with color, line, and texture that provide an opportunity to engage with our natural environment. While her landscapes are imaginary, they are also solidly grounded in her surroundings. On daily walks and hikes Thompson collects a mélange of images that come together in her studio to become a finished painting. Thompson’s relationship to the natural world constantly evolves and allows her art process to similarly change and grow. Marjorie Thompson grew up in her father’s art studio where her love of art blossomed at a young age. Creativity has been a part of her life since this early beginning and has taken several forms along her artistic journey.
