Blissfully Lost
Mixed media with resin, 36 x 36 in, SOLD
“I live and work on Orcas Island in the Salish Sea, in forests filled with cedar, fir and alder, surrounded by water as far as I can see. Every day, I photograph, journal, and record my environment. During my experiences in nature, the trees whisper their wisdom to my soul. My artistic practice is rooted in the stories they tell and their teachings. Through them, I have learned the extent to which we are intertwined. Nature not only surrounds us, she lives within us. With every breath, we inhale nature; with every exhale, we become more connected to her.” – Joyce Gehl
Gehl’s paintings are a fusion of digital imagery, paint and resin in a complex layering system that creates incredible depth and captivating color.
