Limoncello
Collage on panel, 42 x 44 in.
LoCicero’s practice has long engaged with reinventing collage techniques and in this collection, he pushes the boundaries of “painting with paper” to its limits. The title of the exhibition is a nod to Matisse’s cut outs, which motivated LoCicero to create an entire body of work using only paper collage meticulously cut with a pair of ten-inch scissors. Influenced by his recent travels abroad, as well as ongoing art historical research, LoCicero delights us with the ways he creates shape, form and dimensionality, transcending the boundaries of the medium.
